Why are we adopting the 4 day workweek?
More Productivity
By challenging ourselves to improve and streamline our processes, and by eliminating superfluous tasks and meetings, we have gained efficiencies and now have the capability to maintain the same (or higher) levels of production in a reduced amount of time each week. By applying the “less is more” concept and continuing to innovate, we foresee a positive trajectory of even more production than during the 5 day workweek.
Avoiding Burnout
Many industries, especially in advertising, have normalized and even glorified overwork, which often leads to high stress levels, low quality of work and employee burnout. Having an additional day off will allow our creative team to fully recharge and show up with a renewed focus, leading to a higher quality of production and more job joy.
Improved Work-Life Balance
An extra day of “life” means improved mental and physical health. Allowing this extra day means we’re more likely to rest, volunteer in our community, schedule doctor's visits, play with our kids or care for our elders, or plan that weekend getaway that seemed unattainable before. This balance is essential and further supports the goals of improved productivity and avoiding burnout.
